There's a through-line from the counter-culture of the '60s into sort of the technological values of the '80s and the early '90s. And the through-line that you can really see is this sort of notion of radical societal disruption in a positive sense. The idea that here is a new tool that we can somehow bring in and it's going to change on a very basic level how society functions. And you as an individual sort of have a choice. You can watch society change all around you or you can sort of jump in and become part of the movement.
